Fish on the Rocks
Fish and chips at the far end of the harbour wall, eaten off paper while defending it from gulls.
A big open deck over the harbour. Seafood platters, sundowners, and the best sitting-down view in Hout Bay.
The Lookout Deck's advantage is unarguable: a wide wooden deck raised above the harbour, looking across the water at the Sentinel.
The food is seafood-led and generous rather than delicate — platters, calamari, prawns, cold beer. Come for the position and the sunset and order accordingly.
Wind can shut the deck down; there is cover, but on a hard southeaster it is not the same place.

The harbour's landmark seafood complex — fish market, bistro and the Wharfside Grill upstairs.
