Hout Bay Museum
A small local museum on Andrews Road covering the valley's forestry, fishing and mining history.
A modest museum, and better for it. The collection covers what the valley actually did for a living: timber, which is where the name comes from, then fishing, then a short and unprofitable flirtation with manganese mining.
Half an hour is enough unless you get talking, in which case allow longer. Worth doing before you walk the harbour, because you will read it differently afterwards.
