Karbonkelberg Traverse

The Karbonkelberg ridge runs north from the Sentinel above Hangberg. The full traverse towards Llandudno is one of the more committing day walks on the peninsula: long, exposed, poorly marked in places, with real scrambling.

Do not attempt it casually. Go with someone who has done it, start early, carry more water than feels necessary, and have a plan for getting back — the far end is a long way from your car.

For most people the shorter out-and-back from the Hangberg side, turning around at the saddle, delivers most of the view for a fraction of the risk.
